Mumbai Mayhem

I woke up this morning, with news and messages about the incidents that rocked Mumbai. The sheer audacity, and nerve of these terrorists to strike at the heart and soul of Mumbai, leaves me frustrated beyond words.

I moved to Chennai from Mumbai (where I was raised), about a year back. Some of these places, that have been flashed repeatedly across TV channels, are popular symbols of Mumbai. I’ve lose count of the number of times this city has been threatened, and the number of times we’ve gone on with our lives barely a month after these incidents. Out of sight, out of mind. Cocooned in our own existence, we are least bothered, so long as our lives are safe.

But the question is, how long do we just exist, helpless spectators to destruction and mayhem around us.
