According to a recent report by the Times of India (December 18, 2008), the number of Internet users have grown by 23% over the previous quarter. Even better, the rise in broadband internet users have also grown considerably.

There is also a 15,000 km, Indo-European submarine fiber-optic link planned to enhance the bandwidth. A consortium of 16 telecom companies is behind this effort.
